1. Park Overview
Wenchang International Aerospace City is a key industrial park for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and the first commercial coastal aerospace city in China. The Park is located in the west of Bamen Bay and situated between Wenchang Old Town and Qinglan New Town, with a planned area of 18,000 mu, including the western area of Bamen Bay and the area of aerospace supercomputing and big data industrial cluster. According to the instructions of the central government on “building a major scientific and technological innovation base in the aerospace field, creating a strategic highland for space technology innovation” and “relying on Hainan Wenchang Launch Site to promote the construction of Hainan Wenchang International Aerospace City”, the aerospace city is accelerating the development of “three zones and three chains” (launch zone, starting zone, tourism zone, rocket chain, satellite chain, and data chain), striving to build an open, international, and innovative world-class aerospace city.
At present, there are over 1,300 registered market entities and over 120 aerospace enterprises in the aerospace city. In 2022, the aerospace city achieved operating revenue of RMB 10.682 billion, tax revenue of RMB 515 million, and fixed assets investment of RMB 4.407 billion.

Led by aerospace technology, Wenchang International Aerospace City strives to develop aerospace launch and supporting services, aerospace high-end product R&D and manufacturing, aerospace big data development and application, international aerospace exchange and cooperation, and education, finance, exhibition, tourism, life science and other industries involved in “aerospace+”.
It focuses on building “four bases and one center”, namely the major scientific and technological innovation industrial base in the aerospace field, the strategic industrial base for space technology innovation, the demonstration industrial base for innovation and integration, the aerospace international cooperation industrial base, and the aerospace supercomputing center.
The major scientific and technological innovation industrial base in the aerospace field focuses on the development of satellite research and development, rocket research and development, and aerospace ground equipment research and development; the strategic industrial base for space technology innovation focuses on the development of satellite applications, and space science and exploration; the demonstration industrial base for innovation and integration focuses on the development of electronic information, new materials, high-end equipment, new energy, etc.; the aerospace international cooperation industrial base focuses on the development of aerospace international exchange, cooperation and trade, aerospace financial services, and aerospace education and training; and the aerospace supercomputing center is mainly used to build an aerospace big data industrial cluster, create a new economic growth pole in the city, and promote the deep integration of big data and aerospace technology.
